Will the Organizer Make Me Get Rid of Things I Love?
As a Professional Organizer I help people de-clutter, purge and set up their spaces. Frequently people are worried that I am going to "make them" get rid of things they love. Aside from the fact that I cannot make anyone do anything I never get break a heart over the things they love. I promise beautiful spaces, measurable results and we will laugh.
Together with the client we can sort through memories and create order for those precious items. When there is space I suggest making a Memories Box for those items. The box can be a plastic bin or a treasurer chest, doesn't matter. We pack the items carefully, store them properly and label the container for future reference. I have seen such relief when someone realizes that those things that mean something can be maintained well.
In places were space is tight we will discuss options such as, will a different storage method help store items more efficiently, will distributing items to family members spread the joy and reduce the volume, will donations to a needing family allow those items to make someone else smile? In really tight spots can we take pictures of the items and create a digital or paper photo album. Then the items can always be visited but may not take up space.
For each circumstance there is a solutions. Each households needs are unique and special. Together we will find a way to Get Your Stuff Together.
